How We Built a Full Ecommerce Store in Under 2 Hours
From zero to live and taking orders — a complete build breakdown
This is the story of 21M Threads — a Bitcoin-themed hat brand that went from nothing to a live ecommerce store taking orders in 1 hour and 50 minutes.
We're sharing the full timeline because we think it shows what's actually possible when you combine platform expertise with AI-assisted workflows. This isn't a theoretical exercise. The store is live right now.
The Starting Point
A client reached out with a concept: a Bitcoin-themed hat brand targeting the crypto community. They had a name — 21M Threads (named after Bitcoin's 21 million coin cap). That was it. No logo, no website, no products, no supplier.
The goal: get a store live and taking orders as fast as possible.
The Build Timeline
0:00 – 0:15 | Brand Identity. We generated logo concepts using AI tools, refined the winner, and locked in the color palette and brand voice. The name was strong enough that the brand identity came together quickly.
0:15 – 0:40 | Squarespace Store Setup. Created the Squarespace site, selected and customized a template, set up the navigation structure, configured the ecommerce plan, and connected payment processing.
0:40 – 1:05 | Products and Print-on-Demand. Set up a Printful account, designed the first product line (embroidered hats), created product mockups, synced products to the Squarespace store, and set pricing.
1:05 – 1:30 | Content and SEO. Wrote product descriptions (AI first draft, human edit), added SEO meta titles and descriptions for every page, set up the live Bitcoin price ticker in the footer, and configured analytics.
1:30 – 1:50 | Domain, Launch, and QA. Purchased and connected the custom domain, tested the full purchase flow from browsing to checkout, verified mobile responsiveness, checked page speed, and went live.
At 1 hour 50 minutes, the store was live, indexed on Google, and ready to take orders.
Why This Was Possible
Three things made this speed possible.
Platform expertise. We've built enough Squarespace stores to know exactly where every setting lives. No fumbling through menus or watching tutorials.
AI-assisted workflow. AI handled first drafts of product descriptions, SEO meta tags, and image sizing. That saved roughly 30–40 minutes of manual work.
Print-on-demand model. No inventory to photograph, store, or ship. Printful handles production and fulfillment. The client never touches a product.
What It Cost the Client
The full build — brand identity, ecommerce store, print-on-demand integration, domain, and launch — cost well under what most agencies charge for a logo alone. The ongoing costs are just the Squarespace plan ($33/month for ecommerce) and Printful's per-item production cost (deducted from each sale).
Could You DIY This?
Honestly? The Squarespace and Printful setup, yes. With a weekend of learning, you could figure it out. But the brand identity, SEO optimization, and the speed of getting it all connected properly in under 2 hours — that's where professional help pays for itself. The faster you're live, the faster you're selling.
